Maturity does not come with age, it comes with abilty to accept responsibility.
Today i went catching up with some of the girls. Haa, haven't really have a good talk with them for some time. We talked over a lot of things, how each of our life's been going. ALOT! One of the topic which really touched my heart was, like what pastor says, maturity does not come with age but it comes with the ability it to accept responsibility. We were talking about these 2 guys, shan't mention their name but for the sake of convenience, i'll just call them James and Aaron.
Both of them are of the same age and went through the same situation. Here it goes.. During their secondary school days, both their father passed away. Both their father were the sole breadwinner of the family. It was a hugh blow to both of them but the difference was the way they handle the situation.
James was terribly affected by this incident, he lost himself. He was at a loss of what to do. Because he lost his closest and dearest kin, he began to find love in other areas. At that point of time, he knew a girl and placed all his feelings emotions on her. They got together and soon he became dependent on the girl. Due to his deep attachment to her, his social circle became smaller and smaller. He neglected his many of his friends. He could not live without the girl. He fell too deep into the relationship.
Aaron was too, joyless after his father's death. However, he did not act like how James acted. Instead, he took up the RESPONSIBILITY of and took care of his mum & siblings. He tried his best in whatever he do, whether it's in his academic or CCA, he did his best. He worked partime as well, so as to help to lighten the burden of his mother. He's now shining in his school i believe and definitely, he will become a strong and capable man.
This is the story of the 2 guys who went through the same cycle. But we can see their level of maturity and their thinking. I feel this is really something that i wouldn't forget. Haa. Gd Nite=)
